Our experienced team of dedicated regional underwriters will service your loans throughout the entire approval process. We are at your service as real people, not voicemail, and are committed to calling you back within two hours with an approval or status update for all applications referred to an underwriter.

There are no electronic declines. No application is denied until it has been reviewed by senior underwriting management, with every effort being made to restructure the deal to make it work.

Your Genworth Account Manager understands your business and will work with you to help build it. We provide a number of training programs in a wide range of areas that are pertinent to today's mortgage professional. Many of our programs are CAAMP-Accredited, meeting the continuing education requirement for the AMP designation (accredited mortgage professional).

Genworth Financial's Excel™

We understand the importance of fast and reliable processing of mortgage default insurance applications, and have invested in technology to make sure this is what we deliver. Genworth Financial's Excel™ is our fully automated delivery and decisioning system. It means applications are processed and many approved within minutes - and no paperwork. Electronic approval is available from 7am to 10pm (ET) Monday to Friday and 9am to 6pm (ET) Saturdays.

Innovative mortgage solutions

Genworth is there to help meet Canadians' needs through the different stages of their lives. We offer a competitive choice of flexible mortgage default insurance products for the purchase, renovation or refinancing of homes across Canada.

In addition to our standard high ratio product offerings, we also offer unique mortgage products and features that benefit Canadians, including:

  • Portability - Genworth introduced mortgage default insurance portability to Canadians. We allow premiums to be ported even on 95% mortgages, and provide the option to blend the amortization period. This applies to all mortgages, regardless of when the original mortgage was insured.
  • Cash-Out Refinance - Borrowers can take advantage of equity-out mortgages for asset enhancing purposes and significant life cycle events.
  • New to Canada - Qualified homebuyers who have immigrated or relocated to Canada can qualify for Genworth mortgage default insurance with as little as 5% down payment.
  • Insured Progress Advance - Individual borrowers and residential home builders can take advantage of insured progress advances during the course of construction. Applications can be submitted electronically through Genworth Financial's Excel™ provided that the lender's systems are capable. An experienced builder specialist manages the entire process. Premiums are payable either in full, at the time of first advance, or in installments at the time of each advance. Genworth sources an appraisal firm, provides them with the relevant information to complete the inspections and provides the option of arranging for the advance inspections.
